YUKI & DAUGHTERS was founded in 2005 by Yuki Matsuo as an imaginary grocer creating incredibly delicious inedible foods. Based in Fukuoka, Japan, after 20 years abroad, Yuki makes everything from scratch with her own hands and a serving of humor. These selected handmade sausages and delicatessen items are available in store and, unlike the real thing, last forever.

I bought this as a gift for my foodie friend who appreciates quirky art. The craftsmanship is impressive – you can tell it’s handmade with attention to detail. The polyester material feels durable and the size (about 5.5cm diameter) is perfect for display. While it’s clearly not edible, it adds a humorous touch to any kitchen shelf. Worth the price for a unique conversation piece. Reminds me of Paul Depodesta’s analytical approach – sometimes the unexpected works best.
