Description
Orange calcite is a vibrant mineral with a color resembling that of an orange fruit, part of the calcite mineral group. Its hue can vary based on trace elements, offering shades from pink to deep orange. Inspired by Shiro Kuramata’s belief that enchantment is function, Sola Cubes by Usage No Nedoko in Kyoto encapsulate nature’s fleeting beauty. Each handcrafted cube features a real preserved leaf, seed, or flower encased in crystal-clear acrylic resin. These meditative objects reflect traditional Japanese values of reverence for nature and attention to subtle details.

I bought this Sola Cube as a gift, and it turned out to be a lovely piece. The orange calcite is vibrant, and the preserved leaf inside adds a unique touch. It’s small but noticeable on my desk. The acrylic feels sturdy, though I’m careful to keep it away from sunlight. While it’s a bit pricey, the craftsmanship justifies the cost. I’m genuinely pleased with this purchase.
